This is a tune I just did with my long time buddy, and old bandmate Dana Freebairn on vocals. Ty for listening.

E Glass: Music, Electric and Acoustic guitars, Bass, Synths, Drum programming, Additional mob choir vocals, lyrics
    Dana Freebairn: Vocals
    J.D. Butterworth: Lyrics
    Jessica Freebairn: Children's Choir vocals
    Arina Federova: "The Programmer"

This is the first part of the story of "A". A spy thought dead but captured by a secret Russian organization called "The Keepers" who over a few years extensively reprogram him to do dirty deeds for their purposes. This is about his first "task".

As a little side note this song has the first guitar I ever played and learned on in it, the classical guitar in the middle. It's my dad's that he bought in 1964 in Spain while on shore leave in the Navy. He drove for hours to some town to get it (I forget the make but it's well known) he paid $100USD which is $765USD equivalent today. My friend "Master Tang" recently completely rebuilt it (it was very very badly beat up).

    Lyrics:

They call to me so sweetly
They promise me everything and they never lie

    They gave all my dreams
    They gave me life
They gave me all my selves

    Soothed all my little fears
Because monsters that I kill don't even feel

Was there a life to choose beyond the Keeper's gaze
    I'll never know

Don't know if I can feel
Don't know if I should be
Don't know if they can feel
Don't know if they will kill

Watcher sees and tells me to
    Compels me to
    Will see me through

The time to play has come
What will be done will be so much fun

Don't know if I can feel
NO ONE WILL PROTECT YOU LIKE ME
Don't know if I should be
DON'T WASTE THE GIFTS WE GAVE YOU
Don't know if they can feel
WHO SAVED YOU FROM THE TERRORS OF THIS WORLD
Don't know if they will kill

    Yesterday I heard The Voice
My Keeper's far away from here
I miss my home, I miss the games I miss the way everything's the same
    Peace comes from The Code

Very creative, I like the various changes reminds me of something Peter Gabriel era Genisis , or even Pink Floyd might do.

    A great piece.

I have added to my own collection of Ender material, and will listen in the car a few times as I travel to-and-from work. It's such a long piece that it will take a few listens to fully appreciate.

well when I saw this posted I coudnt wait to hear it.

gave it a few listens but it just doesn't do it for me.

I'm posting this because imo it deserves a response, be it pos or neg and an eric glass thread/song with only 5 replies is unheard of!
the production is 1st class, as is the solo. maybe the tracks
    a bit too long?
this being a song as opposed to a instrumental might be a factor for me. then again resurrection mary which I still think is one of the most incredible tracks ive ever heard, will be one hard act to follow.

just my opinion folks, not everyones a winner.

Hey np JIm, I'm much more into songs than instrumentals. Considering how much stuff I hear that I think is crap I figure there should be quite a bit of people that don't like what I do, at least you're honest and that's cool. Not sure why a song vs instrumental would be a factor but I get the point, you don't like it.

dayum Eric... I caught this a while ago from your facebook post and have been listening quite a bit... sorry it took so long to comment...been reading the comments around the various websites and I cannot come up with anything better than what Brett and Danny said. It's too bad the thing with Sony didn't work out. It could've been you're "out", like Vai got with Zappa. I'm glad I'm part of the interwebs that knows you and your tunes and I just continue to add your songs to the Ender playlist and just enjoy. Another most excellent tune mate!

    Cheers

Love the riff man, that's just cool. Some super slick production too. That ethereal effect on the vocals fits the track really well. Great guitar tones as always and sick playing. Great job brother, I dig it!
